Your security is our top priority.
Unum is adding new multifactor authentication (MFA) security options, including email, text or authenticator app (such as Microsoft Authenticator) to help secure your personal information and medical records.

What does this mean to me?
Coming soon, we will no longer use security questions to secure your Unum account. (Not everyone remembers the make and model of their first car, right?) Instead, you will be asked to provide an email to log in to your account.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is two-step verification?
Two-step verification is an online data-protection method that creates an additional step to help protect your account information, even if your login ID and password have been compromised.
NOTE: We recommend using a personal email address so you can always access your account, even if you are not able to access your work email.
Will I be required to use two-step authentication (multifactor) each time I login?
No. MFA is optional, but highly recommended to protect your data. Once you have logged in to your account you can manage your two-step authentication preferences at any time.
How do I log in to my MyUnum for Members account after these new security features are in place?
After you enter your current user ID and password, you will receive a one-time passcode by email to verify that you are really you. This passcode is only good for 30 minutes or you will be prompted to create new login credentials.
Use that passcode to log in and then opt-in to eConsent to access your account and receive documents electronically.
What is eConsent, and why is it necessary?
eConsent gathers your permission to provide documents to you via our secure website or by email. Without your affirmative eConsent, documents can only be sent or received by mail or fax, which may cause delays.
NOTE: eConsent expires every 12 months, so you will need to re-authorize in a year. (We will send an email reminder.)
Can I revoke my eConsent?
Yes, you can revoke it at any time. You can also re-establish your eConsent if you change your mind and resume doing business with us electronically.
